Loulé runs from the coast deep into the barrocal. Inland it is a touch hotter and the houses stand further apart — and that is where the power drops out more often. Our own installation is here, so we usually know the road to your door already.
Loulé is our own council. We sit at Querça, about 12 kilometres from the centre, and we know most of the roads here. For the barrocal villages — Salir, Alte, Benafim, Tor — the same goes as for our own place: the last kilometre is often narrow and the lorry wants to know whether it can turn round.

In the barrocal the houses hang off long spurs, and there the power drops out noticeably more often in a thunderstorm or a gale. Our own installation is on that second part, so what an outage does here we know from experience and not from a brochure.
Flats and holiday homes on the coast, old village houses and quintas inland. The old houses often still have a single-phase supply of 3.45 or 6.9 kVA. That is enough for a battery, but it does cap how fast you can charge: at 6.9 kVA you will not fill 16 kWh in two hours. Solar charges over the top of that, so in practice you notice it mostly in winter.
